ChargedAs Powerbanks

ChargedAs’ power banks prevent phones and other electronic gadgets from running out of battery with our hassle-free, mobile power bank sharing service that’s available throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

Whatever you need, we have a solution for you. We provide ChargedAs Grab ’n’ Go power bank stations that event organisers can hire and set as free-to-use or pay-to-use. We sell ChargedAs Powerbank stations to clients who’d prefer to purchase units. And we’ve set up a network of Volty Powerbank stations at venues across NZ, from Northland to Southland.

ChargedAs shares revenue on Volty stations, which we set up and maintain for free as part of our “support local” ethos. There’s no cost for venues beyond power for the machines, which is minimal.

Both the Volty and ChargedAs Powerbanks have three cables that ensure you can charge any modern mobile phone or other device (like vapes or earphones).

To use ChargedAs or Volty Powerbanks, simply plug your chosen cable into your phone, hit the power button on the side and you’re good to charge on the go!

ChargedAs Powerbanks

ChargedAs provides Grab ’n’ Go power banks for events, with up to 72 power banks in each cabinet that are perfect for big events like festivals.

For smaller events such as small-scale conferences, we can provide multiple individual eight-slot power bank stations, which are perfect for more intimate settings.

These power banks can be set to either free-to-use or pay-to-use, whatever the event organisers need!

If you’d prefer to buy power bank stations, we can provide you with purchase options.

We pride ourselves on always being there for clients and a full maintenance and service is available, including after any sale.

How Volty works

We’re rolling out dual-function stations that include Volty Tap N Go options for people who want to pay by card, Google Pay or Apple Pay and a discount app payment service.

If you’re paying by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, all you need to do is tap your card, wait for quick approval* and the Volty station will release the power bank and you’re good to go!

It costs the price of a cuppa to charge your phone in an hour — from $5.

There’s no surcharge when you use rent or buy a Volty.

If you’re a Volty app member, it’s only from $3.50 an hour — way less than a price of a cuppa.

Once you’ve downloaded and set up the app from Google Play or Apple’s App Store, you’re good to go and all you need to do is point your phone to release the Volty.

See below for more details on both of these options.

Maintenance and technical management is complimentary — it’s all part of the ChargedAs service.

Customer experience and marketing benefits

Providing power banks is a great way for organisations to supercharge their customer experience.

This service also brings in-app exposure and increased foot traffic.

Each Volty partner venue is listed with a photo on the Volty app map for users searching for their nearest venue.

For ChargedAs, support local also means promoting local. So organisations will get marketing exposure from our websites and social platforms — Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube.

Every time you rent a power bank, the first 3 minutes are free.

Volty Tap ‘n’ Go
With Volty Tap ‘n’ Go, there’s no app download, no QR scan.

All you need to do is tap your card*, wait for the $15 pre-authorisation and the Volty station will release the power bank.

It costs only $5 an hour to rent and prices are capped at $15 per day.

After three days, if it’s not returned we’ll just charge $45 and it’s yours to keep!

If you want to return the Volty you can either bring it back to the venue from which your rented it, or you can just look at the Volty app map to find your nearest Volty venue.

Whichever option you choose, the remainder of your deposit, if any, will be returned by your bank.

Volty app sharing rates

Not only does it cost less than a cuppa per hour to charge your phone via the app (from $3.50 an hour), prices are also capped at $15 a day!
After three days, the power bank is yours to keep for only $45.

Once you’ve downloaded the app from the Google Play or Apple’s App Store, you’re good to go!

From the second time you’ve used the app onwards, all you have to do is scan the QR code on the Volty Powerbank station and you’ll pop a power bank out.

If you want to return it, check the app for your nearest Volty venue and pop the Volty into a power bank slot in the Volty Powerbank station.

If you decide to keep your Volty instead of returning it, the power bank can be reused by charging it through the USB-C cable port on the right side.
