Charging station benefits
For Patients
Charging stations alleviate stress for patients and visitors, enhancing their overall experience.
These lockers ensure health care centre users stay connected with loved ones during unplanned and lengthy visits.
For Visitors
Visitors can stay connected with friends and family whilst in waiting rooms. Charging stations also help ensure children remain occupied while waiting for appointments.
For Health Workers
Productivity increases as staff no longer have to deal with charging requests.
ChargedAs Supports local

ChargedAs’ phone charging station at Wellington Regional Hospital ED.
ChargedAs supports local by sharing revenue with clients, which makes for a great revenue-raiser for health care organisations. We keep costs low for locker users, who pay the equivalent to the price of a cuppa, or less: $3 for 20 mins, $4 for 40 mins or $5 for an hour.
Medical centres and charities also have the potential to raise revenue by hiring our free-to-use ChargeBox Primes.
These come with sponsorship opportunities, enabling clients to monetise from adverting wraps and video messages played on the 19″ LCD displays on loop for branding and other messaging. ChargedAs takes no profit if you want to sell this ad space — it’s yours to keep.
ChargedAs’ charging lockers: Safe and secure
ChargedAs guarantees a safe charge and the security of all mobile devices left in our ChargeBox charging lockers, giving health care organisations peace of mind.
Since establishing in 2017, no phone has ever been stolen, lost or damaged in these lockers.
These ChargeBox units charge all types of phones, including the newest models.
*Donations to ChargedAs Partners
We’ve just set up a ChargedAs Tap N Go phone charging station at Auckland City Hospital, in the communal area on level 9, which provides services for National Women’s Health.
Tap N Go lockers keep users connected via payWave. So people can pay by card or swipe their phones to pay with Apple Pay or Google Wallet.
Whenever you charge at this station, profits from the fee will be donated to Auckland Hospital Foundation, so you’ll be supporting world-class healthcare at Auckland City Hospital.
The Well Foundation charity has been a ChargedAs partner since June 2019, when we set up a phone charging station in the North Shore Hospital Assessment and Diagnostic Unit in Auckland.
The Well Foundation is the official charity for North Shore and Waitākere Hospitals, funding vital healthcare projects across the Auckland region. We’ve since added a charging station to North Shore Hospital’s emergency department and another one at Waitakare Hospital’s ED.

All three of these charging stations are ChargedAs Tap N Go lockers, and charging fee proceeds go towards the Well Foundation.
In Wellington, Hutt Hospital’s emergency department has provided phone charging since September 2019. The locker there is also a ChargedAs Tap N Go and profits from charging fees go towards Capital & Coast District Health Board.
Wellington Regional Hospital has a ChargedAs Tap N Go station in its ED and profits from this are shared with Capital & Coast DHB
Capital & Coast DHB also provides a ChargedAs phone charging station at Kenepuru Community Hospital’s waiting area, which is about to be upgraded to Tap N Go. They’re also adding another ChargedAs Tap N Go in the Kenepuru Accident & Medical Clinic soon.
